After failing in our attempt to ghost Poe a few weeks ago, a group of us got together again this week to shake down a few more new techniques, celebrate Tom’s birthday, and make a return trip to the Waterpocket Fold.
We started with a quick run through a few laps of the Fiery Furnace in Arches, then snuck off to North Wash for the next 4 days or so, descending Shenanigans, No Kidding, and a Fourty-One before sneaking back to the lake for a trip to Poe.
Ended up being a successful trip on all accounts. Successfully ghosted 4 canyons on the trip, including the elusive Poe and Happy Dog. Only a few pictures, as I shot a lot of video which will be used for a project film that will take some time to finish up.
Enjoy.
Dan as always your photos are wonderful. You really bring out the essence of the place.

Dan – Love the pictures man. If you’re ever heading out to do something that a couple of beginners can tag along, my wife and I would love to join you. We only have standard gear (harness’, couple of various ropes, biners, belay devices, ascender, head protection), but we can buy anything else you’d suggest. I’ve only done Eardley (did it my first time as the “leader” having never done it before) as the only Tech rappel canyon. The wife is dieing to get out and do something and I’ve got to get it done this coming year for sure.
